BEEP programme Funding background

Business Energy Efficiency Programme (BEEP)

The Business Energy Efficiency Programme is a European Regional Development Funded project that supports eligible business to become more resource efficient. BEEP can provide grants of up to 40% of the total cost of a project, to the maximum contribution of £20,000, for businesses to improve their energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions based on the recommendations from a free site visit that will identify where carbon and energy reductions can be made. Qualifying businesses are situated in and trading from Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire or Telford & Wrekin.

 

Eligibility

  • Be situated in and trading from Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire or Telford & Wrekin
  • Employ Fewer than 250 Employees
  • Turnover of less than €50 million or a balance sheet of less than €43 million
  • Primarily trade business to business
  • Minimum energy spends of £2,000 – £4,000, depending on business sector
  • Industries such as primary agriculture, retail, education facilities, social welfare, education facilities, banking and insurance are not eligible for support

Funding

  • 40% of the cost of energy or resource saving projects with grant funding between £2,000 and £20,000 dependent on the amount of carbon tonnes saved.

Projects

 

Any project that delivers a carbon saving can be considered, typical projects include:

  • Energy Efficient LED Lighting
  • Energy Efficient Heating
  • Destratification Fans
  • Heat Recovery
  • Water Efficient Devices
  • Insulation Improvements
  • Replacement of old and inefficient machinery
  • Variable speed drives
