After successfully delivering over 100 reviews to Energy-Intensive Manufacturers in the Business Energy Advice Service (BEAS) programme from 2023 to March 2025, Pro Enviro is the primary delivery partner for BEAS 2025/2026.

Energy-intensive is defined as a minimum annual consumption of 750,000 kWh.

This is open to SMEs* in Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Birmingham & Solihull, Coventry, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Marches, and Staffordshire.

What does the programme offer?

The programme provides a comprehensive energy audit to better understand how energy is used, identify cost-effective energy-saving measures, embed a low-carbon strategy in your operation and set a path towards net-zero. The audit is the necessary gateway to access match-funded grants of up to £100,000 to implement energy-saving reduction and cost-saving measures.

The comprehensive energy audit and report includes:

  • A Review of the manufacturing facility, plant, and machinery to identify the main drivers of consumption.
  • An analysis of energy consumption patterns in relation to the facility and production processes.
  • The Identification of any non-productive load.
  • Using temporary meters, the energy consumption of up to 5 pieces of plant and machinery can be recorded and analysed.
  • Impartial recommendations for replacing existing energy-consuming processes and building fabric, systems, and equipment.

"Thanks to the match funding from BEAS we have enhanced the insulation in our head office, bringing considerable benefits in reducing our heating bills during the colder months. We have also invested in LED lighting throughout our building, which consumes significantly less energy than traditional bulbs and generates cost savings on electricity bills.

"We purchased modern radiators separately and have a net zero goal which we are working towards, so the BEAS support has enabled us to make progress. We recommend other businesses access their help to generate savings and reduce their environmental impact.

"We're now £15,000 better off a year, which is great news."
